Chapter 38:

  • Pressure that causes movement of air in and out (i.e pleural pressure and alveolar pressure + transpulmonary pressure) Fig 38.2 vv imp
  • Compliance of lungs with fig 38.3 and 38.4 and factors (v.imp question for viva)
    • Surfactant, surface tension & collapse of the alveoli and effect of thoracic cage (pg 499-500) not included
